Well, so much for our private get-away weekend in Cambria that weekend, which Kathy and I booked MONTHS ago, in part to ride Cambria's Country Coast Classic half-century that Saturday morning! For anyone who wanted to consider that event, which will put a lot of riders on the road between Cambria and Ragged Point, see:

Yes - SAVE THE DATE!!  It is going to be a fun weekend!!  We are currently working on the exact $$ amount for the weekend.  Just to give you a rough idea -- it will probably be +- somewhere between $375 and $450 per person (based on double occupancy).  Single rooms - add approximately $150 more.  This includes food on Friday night, Saturday morning (continental), Saturday lunch and dinner and Sunday brunch.  It also includes the wine bus/limo and all your wine tastings.  The hotel, of course, is included along with some type of apparel (TBD) and a couple of other surprises!!

We need to start getting RSVPS ASAP.  The group size is limited by the number of hotel rooms we were able to secure and the size of the wine vehicle...SO...please post if you are interested.  First come..etc....

We will ride on Saturday morning and Sunday morning.  These are casual rides and are based on time, not miles.  We want everyone to finish at the same time so we can move on to other activities.  The routes will be designed so everyone can finish in plenty of time.

This sounds like a lot of fun and I am interested. It would be good for me if there is someone else who might like to share a room (in order to save on cost). Let me know if someone else expresses this interest.

CVCCA pays for all the hotel rooms with a single check.  It will make it a lot easier at check-in if you privately send me your street address, cell phone, and preferred email address.  We will use the rooming list for the hotel reservations and contact info in case someone gets "lost".

I'm really disapponted but I just realized that my only other commitment this summer is that same weekend. I will miss being a part of the Wine Ride, but looking forward to next year.

I'm working on getting someone to work for me that Saturday.  Should have a response within a few days.  Sounds like it would be a fun time.

I was reminded that my cousin is getting married in Bakersfield on June 21.  I cannot go on the wine ride after all.  I am so sorry!  I really wanted to go and totally forgot the wedding was that weekend.

oh boy.... time to feel sorry for me, b/c I would love to do this wine ride... but that is chust 7 days before I fly off into the wild blue to the far side of the world.... East Africa. I guess Ill have to cry into my anti malaria meds whilst you all are zooming about my favourite Central Coast on bicycles.

ok - now that the fun part is over...time to get to the serious part of riding... the Wine Ride (or was it the other way around).  We need your "reservations" ASAP as we will need to release rooms soon.  Please post or email if you are would like to attend!!
