    I'm out of fundraising ideas!

I’m out of fundraising ideas! You sent out your letters. You got some responses. But you’re not there yet. What to do? Hopefully this post will help get you going. I’ve compiled ideas from the experts-your mentors! First of all, revisit your fundraising letter. Have you REALLY sent it to everyone? Check the following list. All the places you regularly spend money should get one:
    · Corner Store · Rent, mortgage · Car payments · Video store · Clothing · Oil company · Barber/Beauty Salon · Hardware store  · Bank · Grocery store · Liquor store · Gas station/Auto repair  · Laundromat ·Doctors · Lawyers · Accountants

Where do you spend your time? Who do you know there?
    · Workplace · Church · Community Center · Health Club
    · Restaurants · Volunteering · School · Fishing · Union

Who respects you? Who will listen to what you have to say?
    · Family members · Friends · Coworkers · People you've helped  · Organizations that support your work · People too busy to be involved

Whom do you respect? Who do you look to for leadership?
    · Family members · Friends · Coworkers · People you've helped  · Organizations that support your work · People too busy to be involved Corporations – Where you work.
    · Check with your employer for matching funds · Ask your donors to check with their employer about matching funds. Okay, now that you have sent out a new batch of letters, now what?

    1.     Hold a bake sale at work or the kid’s baseball game. Several alumni have made $200 or more with bake sales.

    2.    Partner with a local restaurant. Many will give back a portion of their sales for a day. Rubio’s, Sweet Tomatoes, Hooters, and Uncle Harry’s are just a few that have participated before.

    3.    Have a garage sale. They traditionally raise $200-$600. Ask friends and family for donations of items to include in the sale. Have your cheerleaders (mom, sister, best friend) hold the garage sale for you while you’re out on your bike ride.

    4.    Hold a wine tasting or dinner & sell tickets.

    5.    Hold a raffle. Ask your favorite restaurant/spa/golf course to donate. Sell raffle tickets to everyone you know!

    6.    Sell space on your jersey. Since our charities benefit so many (Lance Armstrong Foundation & Central CA Blood Center) everyone has been affected or knows someone who has been affected by cancer or a need for blood. Have each donor write the name of someone they want you to ride in honor of onto ribbons that you can pin all over your jersey the day of your century ride.

Alumni, can you add to this list? I know there are  many more great ideas out there.

Another idea my mentees & I were going to do was John's Incredible Pizza but have changed are minds. For those interested they have a website and will work with non profits. Casa Corona also allows non profits to sell tickets and gives you a nice chunk of change. Check it out if anyone is still working on their fundraising....

Courage isn't the absence of despair and fear, but the ability to move ahead in spite of them...

Re: I'm out of fundraising ideas!

I'm willing to work with someone on my Coexist! Vinyl Window Decal idea posted in the Social Forum.  I ordered some for my cars at cost but I'm sure we could turn this into a fund raising idea...  I did some checking and as a fundraiser... It looks like if someone could sell about 300 of these they could make about $3000.  I've also made up some of these for the Fresno Cycling Club and Central Valley Cycling  websites as well.  Drop me a note if you are interested...
