Thanks for posting this Cavin.  I just registered for the metric also.  This is always a fun ride so I encourage all of you to consider signing up.  Plus, you may get lucky in the Casinos and fund your retirement account while you're there.

The start/finish is actually the Horizon Casino Resort. I rode the Century last year and you are all correct it is a "no miss" ride.

If you like camping, there is a nice campground 2 miles from the start/finish line in South Lake Tahoe.  It is operated by the City of South Lake Tahoe and is very popular.  It is already sold out for the 4th of July.  Some sites have electricity and both RV and tent sites are available.  Check it out: http://www.recreationintahoe.com/campground.htm

    Hyatt, not high hut

<<But my wife thinks camping is the Holiday Inn  instead of the Hilton.>>

Kathy agrees with Sandy.  Any time I mention camping, she has made it clear that Hyatt beats the high hut.

And, if I mention "RV," Kathy just asks when I will learn to properly pronounce, "Harvey's"

i understand that mostof the hotels are booked....  it seems that 'openings' show up later...

OR   Are we going to consider a group camp out???   could be cold?  could be fun!  if we can book a couple sites with power, we might even have some electric heat and a TV... (naw, were camping)  but light for sure!

    Have tent, Will travel!

    any interest?
